As of June 10 entry requirements for foreigners entering the Republic of Latvia have changed. In addition to U.S. citizens holding a valid residence permit in Latvia/other EU Member State/country of EEA/Switzerland also immediate family members of Latvian nationals who reside permanently outside of Latvia are allowed to enter Latvia. Immediate family members, regardless of their country of citizenship, include the following: spouses of Latvian citizens; their children under 21 years of age and persons who are under their legal guardianship or custody. Documentation proving the relationship (such as birth or marriage certificate) has to be carried along in case it has to be presented to border control officers or airline representatives.

Information about the necessity to self-isolate for 14 days after entering Latvia is available on the official webpage of the government of Latvia: https://covid19.gov.lv/en and on the official webpage of the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control of Latvia https://spkc.gov.lv/en/ . Please be informed that self-isolation for 14 days after entering Latvia from the U.S. is mandatory and is controlled by the State Police officials. We recommend that the guidelines for self-isolation are being followed very strictly.
